Jeff Walterscheid, PhD, F-ABFT

Toxicology, Immunology and Microbiology, Pathology

Jeff Walterscheid received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Ph.D. in Immunology from the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston. Dr. Walterscheid also completed his training as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He maintains an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UT Medical School, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. In 2007, he joined the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences as a Toxicology Specialist. In 2011, he became a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology, and was promoted to Assistant Chief Toxicologist where he now serves as an expert for interpreting toxicology results in DWI suspects, victims of sexual assault, and postmortem investigations.
